My Bentley Story by Jackie Emmons

When I was in kindergarten I met my best friend. After loads of playdates our moms ended up becoming best friends as well. Because I was her oldest child, my mom always sought for advice from her best friend. My mom later found out that her best friend's husband, and two oldest daughters attended Bentley and were now extremely successful. From that day on my mom continuously pushed Bentley on me. I was 7 years old. Growing up, I heard about Bentley everyday and told my mom over and over again "That's where you want me to go, not where I want to go!" Come my junior year of high school I began looking into schools and decided I wanted to pursue business. Naturally my mom suggested I tour Bentley. With hopes that this would shut her up, I agreed to go on a tour. We went on a tour in March; there were no kids on campus because it was during spring break but I remember I didn't care. I was in love. I knew on that day Bentley was where I wanted to be. My dad called me on the way home from my tour and asked how it was and I remember whispering to him "Don't tell mom, but I loved it." My mom overheard and started crying tears of joy. Needless to say I made it into my dream school and I couldn't be happier. As a recent addition to the ambassador program here at Bentley I realize each time I give a tour now just how happy I am to be here, and how I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else.
