What is the Tomorrow 25?
Bentley College salutes the next generation of leaders with the international Tomorrow25 competition. Launched in 2005 to identify exemplary leaders of tomorrow, the Tomorrow25 program honors 25 outstanding high school juniors with a series of special events on the Bentley campus. The winners receive national recognition and interact with high-profile leaders at the annual Bentley Leadership Forum (all expenses paid), in cooperation with TIME magazine. The Tomorrow25 students also appear in an ad in TIME magazine as part of Bentley’s national campaign.
How do I nominate a high school junior, or have someone
nominate me?
The nomination form for the 2009 program will be posted later this year. Nominations will be due by January 1, 2009 and are typically submitted by business and community leaders, teachers, school administrators and guidance counselors (nominations from family members cannot be accepted).
Fifty finalists are chosen by the Bentley Tomorrow25 Committee by late January and submitted to the International Advisory Board, established by Bentley. The Advisory Board will make their final selection of the 2009 Tomorrow25 in mid-February 2008.
Candidates for this honor have demonstrated initiative, citizenship, technological savvy, cultural awareness, social responsibility, a passion for the real world of people and organizations, intelligence, and a commitment to making positive change in their communities or schools.
What are the criteria for selection?
- High school juniors who have demonstrated initiative and leadership in their schools, communities or organizations and have made a positive impact through their efforts
- Students who have clearly and consistently shown good citizenship, ethical behavior, social responsibility and character
- Students who have a solid academic record
- Students who have demonstrated abilities in, or specific accomplishments with, one or more of the following:
- New technologies
- Global culture or international affairs
- The arts or sciences
- Business or related professional interests

What do past winners have to say about the experience? "I just wanted to thank you and Bentley for giving us this wonderful experience. I am so honored to have been able to travel to Bentley College to attend the Leadership Forum as well as meet the other Tomorrow 25! The speakers at the forum have all been very inspiring to me -- but I have especially been inspired by the other 24 wonderful juniors that I had the opportunity to talk to and get to know. It is so encouraging to be with teens my age who are so avid about the future and making a difference in the world. We will all do great things, I am sure of it!" Grace Do — 2008 winner "I would just like to tell you that the past week at Bentley College was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I met wonderful students who I know will always be in touch. The Leadership Forum was truly inspiring, and the speakers embodied the ideas of service for the public good. I am honored to be part of the Tomorrow25. Thank you for the experience." Zachary Brown — 2008 winner "I just wanted to thank you for the amazing Tomorrow25 experience; it has encouraged me to continue pursuing leadership through community service and I have made friendships that I hope to maintain in the future." Pratyusha Yalamanchi — 2008 winner "I cannot adequately describe what this thought provoking and tremendous experience has meant to me. It was a distinct honor to meet the other finalists and it was a pleasure to be part of such an illustrious group. I am so thankful to Bentley for this great opportunity; I shall always remember it." Nicholas Porter — 2008 winner “I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for providing me Lauren Boldon —2007 winner “Meeting the rest of the tomorrow 25 was one of the most unique and life changing experiences that I have ever had. Now I have 24 people to talk to when I need ideas, or assistance in my leadership activities. This has truly been a life-changing opportunity for me. I will most definitely encourage another student to apply to the Tomorrow 25 program next year.” Douglas Gee — 2007 winner "Samuel, my wife and I all want to thank all of those involved in the Tomorrow25 program at Bentley. It was a tremendous experience, especially for Samuel, but for all of us. We appreciated and enjoyed everything associated with program and the events. We are very much impressed and thankful." Avery family (T25 winner Samuel, parents Brian & Tita) — “It was really nice meeting everyone here and knowing that there are people around the world who like the things I do and have things in common with me.” Mariana Cobo — 2007 winner
