The Office of Academic Affairs, External Relations and Accreditation Services (AAERAS) works with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of Business and the McCallum Graduate School, the Dean of Arts and Sciences, and the members of the Bentley community on the following:
Accreditation Services: The office works with the dean's office on matters associated with the university's three accreditation bodies:
- The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business ( AACSB)
- The European Foundation for Management Development ( EQUIS)
- The Association of New England Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
AAERAS acts as a focal point for accreditation activities that include developing and maintaining systems and processes to support the preparation of all reports, background materials, accreditation documents and team visits for the above-mentioned accreditations.
Academic Services: AAERAS creates contracts for full- and part-time faculty members and works closely with the Human Resources Department regarding faculty compensation issues. Among its other responsibilities, the office prepares and maintains a variety of faculty reports, administers and monitors budgets related to trustee and other endowed professor expense accounts, administers internal research grant budgets, faculty international travel budgets, etc.
External Relations: AAERAS acts as a liaison with the Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS) and academic departments to facilitate the visits of international and national faculty guests. This includes arranging for the visit, providing visa information and advice, working with the visitor’s host and managing the visitor’s welcome and reception process. The office also serves as the reception area for Visiting Scholars and short-term visitors to Bentley University.
