Protecting the Ivory Tower - Electronic Surveillance of Campus Communications: Sensible and Lawful Security or an Invasion of Privacy? .
The paper discusses the conflict between the obligation and right of the college/university to use electronic surveillance to insure and protect campus security and safety from acts of violence (e.g., Virginia Tech, University of Texas at Austin, Columbine, etc.) and the privacy rights of those under surveillance.
