Current Events — U.S. and Afghan troops launch Operation Anaconda against remaining Al-Queda and Taliban fighters in Afghanistan; sexual abuse scandal in the American Catholic Church; North Korea admits to developing nuclear arms in defiance of treaty; Pennsylvania miners rescued after spending 77 hours in dark, flooded mine shaft; Kenneth Lay, chairman of bankrupt energy trader Enron resigns — company comes under federal investigation.
