Message from Your Reunion Committee:
Dear Class of 1996:
We hope this finds you doing well and enjoying life, both personally and professionally. It’s hard to believe that nearly a decade has passed since our days as Bentley students. As we approach our 10th-year reunion this fall, several members of our class have proposed that we establish a special scholarship fund in memory of two of our classmates — Travis Morgan and Christina Barelli. As you probably know, both passed away from cancer; Travis in 1999 and Tina in 2001.
If you’ve been to campus in recent years, perhaps you’ve seen their names on two memorial benches along the walkway between Morison and LaCava. Both were class officers and active in Greek life. Tina was a student ambassador and a yearbook committee member. Travis was elected to the Falcon Society.
The newly established Class of 1996 Memorial Scholarship Fund will honor these two wonderful people by supporting future generations of students who bring the same kind of positive impact, leadership, and inspiration to the Bentley campus that Travis and Tina did.
We have chosen to build an endowed scholarship to ensure that the fund exists in perpetuity. Interest from the endowment will be awarded annually in the form of a scholarship. The minimum threshold to establish an endowed fund is $50,000; we hope to raise that amount by December, and so we are asking all members of our class to participate in this important effort. At the same time, our class adviser, Professor Rick Frese, is soliciting the financial support of all Bentley faculty and staff.
A gift of any amount will be greatly appreciated, and we look forward to announcing the name of the inaugural scholarship recipient next year. You can make your gift online at www.bentley.edu/giving.
