FalconNet FAQs
What is FalconNet?
FalconNet is Bentley University's exclusive online community that provides the opportunity for more than 45,000 Bentley alumni from around the globe to network with each other as well as current students both socially and professionally, and enjoy other great benefits.
How do I register?
To join, go to www.bentley.edu/FalconNet and follow the directions. If you’re already registered with the online community, simply login.
How does FalconNet work?
There are countless ways you can use the system. For example, you can:
• Find alumni using a Google-like search engine
• Upload your résumé
• Search job postings
• Post personal and professional updates for Class Notes
• Create and participate in discussion groups
• Invite people to be part of your alumni network
• Opt in to Network with Bentley students
How does FalconNet differ from other networking sites?
FalconNet is an exclusive "members' only" Bentley community that’s free, safe and secure. It is not open for public viewing.
What if I can't find the classmate(s) I'm looking for in the community?
We are working to make the community act more like a real "directory." In the meantime, feel free to contact us and we will attempt to reach out to the person(s) on your behalf. Also feel free to check our LinkedIn Bentley University Alumni Group, Facebook Bentley University Alumni Fan page, as well as follow our Twitter Bentley Alumni account to reach classmates and other alumni, parents, and friends.
How do I search or post job offerings?
To search: use the and Job Search link sign in with your FalconNet user name.
To post positions for experienced alumni: use the Post Positions link.
To post positions for entry level and/or internships for current students, please contact the Recruiting office and/or visit the Recruiting web site.
How do I set up an alumni forwarding e-mail address?
Use this E-mail forwarding link. Contact us if you need assistance.
How do I change my primary e-mail address?
(note: current students must update their contact information with the Registrar's office. Changes made on FalconNet will revert to the Registrar's office information)
- Once you have logged in to FalconNet, click "Profile" on the top navigation bar
- In the Contact Information section click the "click to update" button.
- Change the E-mail address to an address you wish to receive E-mails and save the changes.
How do discussion groups work?
A discussion group is an electronic message board where you can post a message (via e-mail or online). Other members of the discussion group can reply to your message with comments or suggestions. You can receive e-mail updates or log in to the community to view a discussion board posting.
How do I start or join a discussion group?
Simply login to FalconNet and select "My Discussion Groups" from the top navigation on your MyPage. Follow the directions on the page for discussion groups.
How do I change my preferred name?
On the FalconNet home page click "Groups" on the Discussion Groups page click "Edit my profile," make and save the changes you have made to your profile.
How can interact with current students and make my profile visible to them?
In the Profile section, change the "Do you wish to share your profile with Students?" setting to "Yes".
Selecting to share your profile with students means that your alumni profile will become visible to students in the FalconNet system.
In addition, you will also be able to search for and see student profiles. Students will most likely contact you by e-mail with career-related questions. They may also invite you to become one of their "contacts" through FalconNet.
I would like to use FalconNet to recruit students with an interest in my company, for internships and jobs. Is this possible?
Yes, by changing the "Do you wish to share your profile with Students?" setting to "Yes," you are also given access to the profiles of students who have registered with FalconNet. This means, you can search the directory for students whose profiles match your professional criteria. You may then contact them to discuss internships or jobs.
