I. Norman Massry is a principal in Massry Realty Partners, which was founded by his father Morris more than 40 years ago. The company runs Albany, N.Y. – based Tri City Rentals, a property management firm that owns and manages premier apartment communities in the three largest regions in upstate New York – Albany, Buffalo and Rochester. With 23 communities in the Albany region, Tri City Rentals is the region’s largest company in the apartment community industry.
Mr. Massry serves on the boards of several philanthropic, educational and community organizations including the college of St. Rose; St. Peter’s Health Care Services; Seton Health/ St. Mary’s Hospital (Troy, N.Y.); Saratoga Performing Arts Center; and the United Jewish Federation Endowment board.
His philanthropic support and community involvement have been recognized many times. His awards include the Hudson-Mohawk Association of Colleges and Universities Community Service Award (1998); the YMCA President’s Award (2000); the President’s Spirit of St. Rose Award (2004); and State of Israel Peace Medal (2008).
Mr. Massry received a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Bentley in 1978. Appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2004, he currently chairs the trustee affairs/ governance committee and serves on the university advancement; executive, business and finance; and physical facilities committees.
He lives with his wife Michele in Loudonville, N.Y. They have three children, Julie, Murray ’08, MBA ’09 and Laurie; and two grandchildren Isaac and Ezra.
