Chaisson, Seymour-Robideaux Head List of Bentley Honorees into NE Basketball Hall of Fame

WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Bentley University women's basketball program will be well represented when the New England Basketball Hall of Fame holds its 2009 Induction Ceremonies at Mohegan Sun Friday evening.

Danielle Chaisson ‘98, a Norwood native, will be enshrined in the Division II women's player category, and Tracie Seymour Robideaux '92 will be recognized in the Ronald S. Perry category, for her dual excellence, at both Bentley and Chicopee Comp High School.

Three other former Bentley players and two former assistant coaches will also be inducted in the high school girls division. They are Kelly Barker '01 (Billerica HS), Bri Fecteau '01 (Westbrook, Maine, HS), Kim Cummings Singh '96 (Brockton HS), Ann McInerney (Burncoat HS, Worcester) and Valerie DePaolo (Southington, Conn., HS).

Chaisson averaged in double figures all four seasons, and finished her career with 1,728 points, good for third on Bentley's all-time list. She helped the Falcons reach the Elite Eight annually from 1996-98, was a Kodak Division II All-America as a senior and was also the Northeast-10 Player of the Year in 1998.

Seymour Robideaux, fifth on Bentley's all-time scoring list with 1,652 points, was an integral part of Falcon teams that reached the Division II Fab Four and win at least 30 games each of her four seasons (1989-92). The 1992 Kodak All-America is the only player in the program's history who has exceeded 1600 points, 700 rebounds, 300 assists and 300 steals.

Barker is Bentley's all-time leading scorer with 1800 points, and is also second in school history in rebounds (1,120), free throws (490), free throw attempts (648) and three-point percentage (.429). She was the NE-10 Player of the Year and a Kodak All-America in 2000-01, a season in which Bentley was 31-3.

Cummings Singh, after a standout career at Brockton High, excelled at Bentley from 1992-96. She's the only player in the program's history with over 1,500 points and 500 assists, and currently ranks fourth in scoring (1,701), fifth in assists (563) and eighth in rebounds (777). She was the Northeast-10 Player of the Year in 1996, and also a Kodak All-America.

Fecteau, in her four years in a Bentley uniform, is third in school history in assists (573) and fourth in points (1,301). The former point guard played in a Bentley record 135 games, and was a starter on the Falcons' Elite Eight teams in 1997, 1998 and 1999.

McInerney was an assistant to Barbara Stevens, a charter member of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame and an inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, from 1994-99. DePaolo was on Stevens' staff during the 1990-91 season.
