Carr's 78th Minute Goal Helps Le Moyne Move on to Semifinals with 1-0 Win over Bentley

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore Jesse Carr scored a 78th minute goal on a 25 yard free kick as second seeded Le Moyne snuck by seventh seeded Bentley University 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 men's soccer tournament.

The Falcons hung tough all game with the 20th ranked team in Division II. Le Moyne however, kept Bentley off the scoreboard throughout the afternoon and prevented the equalizer after Carr's goal.

Both teams were strong defensively as there were only seven shots on goal the entire game, with five going to Le Moyne.

The contest was also very physical as the referees called a combined 38 fouls on both teams and handed out five yellow cards.

Bentley finishes the season at 6-10-2 overall after qualifying for the NE-10 playoffs for the second straight year. Le Moyne moves on to the semifinals where they will face either Franklin Pierce or Assumption on Wednesday afternoon at home.
