SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Freshman Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS), in only her second meet as a collegian, broke the Bentley University record in the 100 yard breaststroke and helped the Falcons set a school record in the 200 medley relay.
Despite her efforts, Bentley fell to Le Moyne College on the road, coming up on the short end of a 153-144 score to fall to 1-1 on the season.
Hodsdon captured the 100 breast in 1:07.82, shaving 0.36 seconds off the mark that Kaitlin Chepeleff had set at the 2008 New Englands. She was also victorious in the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, with times of 2:30.16 and 2:17.61, respectively.
In the meet's opening event, Hodsdon swam the second leg on Bentley's winning 200 medley relay team, which lowered the school record by 0.88 seconds with a time of 1:52.58. That quartet also included freshman Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS), junior Anne Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass./Dedham HS) and sophomore Susie Boretti (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy).
Like Hodson, Kaduboski also won three individual events, with her performance in the 200 butterfly (2:15.86) an NCAA "B" cut time. Her other winning efforts came in the 1000 freestyle (11:25.51) and the 100 fly (59.09).
Drogosz was the other Falcon to win events, taking both the 50 free (25.89) and the 100 free (56.46).
Bentley's next meet is a home dual with Brandeis University on Nov. 17.
