Do your choices make the grade?
You might be surprised to learn that if you are a woman who drinks more than four drinks, or a man drinks more than five drinks in one night your quantities meet the criteria for binge drinking. Yikes!
You might also be surprised to learn that students who choose to binge drink, on average have GPA's that are .11 lower than students who choose to drink lower quantities.
For some, this doesn't seem like a lot of alcohol. However, research on academic performance shows students who drink this much (or more)
- Have higher rates of class absences
- Have lower GPA's
- Spend less time studying
