Annual Events and Campus Activities

Orientation
Each June, incoming freshmen attend a three-day Orientation. They sample residence hall life, take part in workshops, register for courses, and more. Family members are also invited to learn more about Bentley on the last day of each session.

First Week
New students kick off each year with this weeklong program designed to help ease the transition to college life. Freshmen and transfer students move onto campus a week before upperclassmen and enjoy a roster of social and educational activities. Students pick up their laptops, start classes, and take part in special events!

Homecoming
Bentley celebrates its Falcon school spirit each fall during Homecoming. Events include a parade of floats, the crowning of a Homecoming king and queen, and a barbecue that is open to the entire Bentley community.

Family Weekend
February 2009
Family Weekend is a great time to reconnect with family and shake off the winter doldrums. Great events are planned both on and off campus, with plenty of fun for the whole family. Plans for Family Weekend 2009 are currently underway. Visit the Family Weekend page in January for program details.

Commencement Week
After four years of hard work, Bentley seniors deserve a week in their honor! Senior Week begins in May, on the Saturday after the last exam, and continues until graduation. The celebration usually includes a trip to the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas and a formal Senior Ball in Boston.

Baccalaureate
The college’s Baccalaureate Service provides an opportunity for students and their families to reflect on their accomplishments before graduation. The entire Bentley community is invited to participate in the interfaith service, which is held on the Friday before Commencement in May. For many students, this event is the highlight of Commencement Week.

Bowles Performing Arts Series
There’s no lack of culture on the Bentley campus thanks in large part to the Bowles Performing Arts Series. Each year the series features a wide array of performances, from storytellers and singers to dancers and actors. The lineup for the 2008-2009 season will be posted soon.

Breakfast by Moonlight
A huge, all-you-can-eat breakfast, served by faculty members and administrators the night before finals begin – for just 99 cents! What could be better than that?

Super Bingo
Students compete for more than $10,000 in fabulous prizes in this updated version of the classic game.

Festival of Colors
Bentley international students showcase their talents in this celebration featuring dance, song and the spoken word, as well as an incredible fashion show.

Up ’til Dawn
Students from across the Bentley campus participate in Up ‘til Dawn, one of the college’s biggest annual fundraisers sponsored by members of Greek Life. Last year, Bentley students, faculty and staff joined forces in a letter-writing campaign and raised more than $87,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Spring Day
Spring Day, normally held in late April, brings students together to celebrate the end of a successful academic year. Featuring a national recording act, a free concert, an all-day BBQ, spirited competitions and cash prizes, Spring Day is not to be missed!
