Cultural Programs
Action!
At Bentley, we believe you’re not getting a full education unless the arts are included. That’s why our students complement their business and technology skills with exploration of the arts, from music and photography to theater, film and drawing. The payoff is graduates who are well-rounded, interesting people.
The Bowles Performing Arts Series is perhaps the best-known cultural program at Bentley, bringing a steady stream of events to campus. From political satire to classical piano, gospel music to Irish ballads, the Bowles Series puts the arts at center stage. In 2005-2006, headliners included the Pedrick-Hutson Guitar Duo, the National Shakespeare Company, Snappy Dance Theater, The Waverly Consort, the Harlem Gospel Choir, and Mayhem Poets.
But the stage isn’t the only cultural venue on campus. Each semester brings a full calendar of literary readings, lectures, art exhibits and more, to expand your cultural and artistic horizons.
Students who are eager to make the leap from spectator to performer can join several performance-based student organizations. Alpha Psi Omega, a coed drama group, plays to enthusiastic audiences every fall and spring. The Bentley Gospel Choir brings that musical tradition to not only the campus but the surrounding Boston area as well. And a student dance team, pep band and jazz band offer other avenues for expressing your creative side.
