AlcoholEdu

Whether you choose to drink or not, AlcoholEdu creates an online personalized experience that can help you make healthy choices. The course uses science-based research to educate you about alcohol’s effects on an individual, their peers, or the community as a whole.

As part of our alcohol abuse prevention program, all incoming students, including transfer students, are required to complete AlcoholEdu. A separate AlcoholEdu course is available for parents and family members and for students who violate campus policy.

New Student Course Requirements

AlcoholEdu consists of two parts. We require completion of both.

AlcoholEdu Part I

Part I takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete and is due August 20, 2013. It includes a pre-test, four learning modules, a survey and an exam. You do not need to take the entire course in one sitting. All information collected on the surveys is confidential.

You must pass Part I with an exam score of 75 percent. If you fail to complete Part I on time, you will be referred to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs. If you are a residential student, you will be unable to move into on-campus housing

AlcoholEdu Part II

Part II will be available approximately 45 days after you complete Part I. You must complete Part II by October 21, 2013. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It includes a review of strategies and student’s personal goals followed by an exit survey. Data on this survey is confidential — your responses are not identifiable.
