Modeling timelines for translational science in cancer; the impact of technological maturation
Timelines for the growth of technologies are shown as blue bars from the initiation point (Ti), through the exponential growing stage, to the point at which the technology is established (Te). The number of approvals associated with each technology is shown for phenotypic drugs (open, orange circles) and targeted or biologic products (closed, green circles). Approval dates for drugs associated with multiple technologies are shown more than once. READ MORE
~Quote of the Week~
“We've arranged a global civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces.”
Carl Sagan, The demon-haunted world: Science as a candle in the dark, 1997.
