Advisory Board

The Advisory Board serves to enhance the link between the center and the faculty. Composed of faculty, administrators, and other interested members, the Advisory Board, which meets regularly, is charged with the following responsibilities:

  1. Reviewing Service-Learning programs and procedures at the request of the director;
  2. Recommending enhancements and revisions to Service-Learning programs and procedures;
  3. Assisting in the encouragement and recruitment of faculty to include Service-Learning components within their courses;
  4. Assisting in the development and presentation of faculty workshops on Service-Learning;
  5. Working with the director, administration, and faculty to ensure that academically rigorous Service-Learning work is recognized as an important element within the faculty promotions and tenure process;
  6. Evaluating Service-Learning faculty award submissions and selecting award recipients; and
  7. Recommending off-campus sites and programs for Service-Learning opportunities.
