Design and Innovation
We believe that successful design comes from a creative approach informed by data. Whether you’re in the earliest stages of innovation, sketching out initial design ideas, or updating an existing product or feature set, we can provide inspired solutions to your design challenges. The UXC staff is experienced in ideation, as well as in creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and polished visual designs including style guides.
Steps To Success
Step 1: Define Goals and Target Users
The first step in any successful project is to identify the business and use goals, as well as the characteristics of the design’s end users. Once we understand not only who these users are, but what their constraints and goals are, we can build a research plan to help inform what they need from the design.
Step 2: Conduct Research
The best design is informed by deep insights into the behavior and needs of the people using the end product. We pull from our comprehensive Research and Evaluation toolkit to find the method that will give us the richest insights into your users, and use those insights to inform everything we create.
Step 3: Discuss Findings
All research sessions conclude with a discussion of what we found, and a determination of the next appropriate steps to take in the design. Research deliverables may include a comprehensive report, a top-line memo, or a simple debriefing session that your team can take to move to the next phase of design. Before each project begins, we will work with you to determine the best documentation method for your team.
Step 4: Produce Design Deliverables
Once research concludes, we work to create a set of design deliverables that will best move the project forward. Whether it’s a series of simple wireframes, a clickable prototype, a comprehensive style guide, or all of the above, we will work with your team to make sure they have the documentation needed to make this new project a success.
Step 5: Follow Up
We build long-term relationships with our clients because they know that creating a great product is an iterative experience, informed by customer insight along each milestone. Each project concludes with a clear set of next steps for the design process, and opportunities for future research and/or design iterations.
