Session Description:
SALT is a game-changing new educational membership program created by American Student Assistance. SALT helps students and families finance a higher education, successfully manage any resulting debt, and build money skills for life. In 2012, SALT embarked on a journey to broaden the scope of its digital experience, to incorporate behavioral finance and adult learning theory into the model, and to change the face of financial education for the next generation. SALT’s goal is to move beyond passive financial literacy to drive positive financial behaviors in college and beyond.
In this session, three professionals, each representing a different perspective of the multi-disciplinary team, and a student user will discuss what they learned working on this project and offer insights on how to apply what they learned at your organization or company.
Attend and walk away with
- the importance of designing a financial literacy program with the user in mind,
- ways to incorporate adult learning and behavioral change theory into financial literacy curriculum to create a more meaningful user experience, and
- practical tips for incorporating the user perspective while working on a multidisciplinary team successfully.
The panel includes Sue Burton, Managing Director, Consumer Product Development and Marketing, American Student Assistance; Michal Pasternak, Partner, User Experience, HUGE; Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, Financial Psychology Expert, KBK Wealth Connection, and Adjunct Professor at Bentley's McCallum Graduate School of Business; and a student panelist.
