Jerome Joseph is currently Senior Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. He has been a faculty member at the Institute since September, 1986. Prior to joining, IIMA he had 10 years teaching and research experience in the University of Madras and affiliated institutions in South India. He is also a Fulbright Fellow who has been with the Programme on Negotiation at the Harvard Law School (1992-93).

A PhD and gold medalist at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he is an alumnus of Loyola College (a Jesuit autonomous institution of the University of Madras) and the University of Madras. He has thirty five years’ experience as educator, trainer, training designer, researcher, and consultant in the areas of negotiations capability development, human resource management, employment relations, macro-organizational behavior, training methodology, competence utilization, coach-mentor development, team building methodology, and field management. He has designed several innovative Executive Development Programmes and taught with distinction in all the Flagship Executive development Programmes at the Management Development Centre at the Institute. He has also created the innovative “Seven Soft Skills for Professional Perfectionism” package, which develops critical strategy implementation capability in professional managers.

Jerome has guided a dozen doctoral students of IIM, Ahmedabad and the Academy of HRD-Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur , and other institutions. He has received high ratings as a Teacher/Trainer/Designer of innovative programmes and pedagogical methods and has been rated Best Professor by the Postgraduate Programme students on several occasions. He is also a PhD Examiner in several leading institutions like IITs, IIMs, TISS and so on. Has published 5 books in his area of specialization and four more books are in various stages of publication and journal papers in refereed Indian journals of repute. He has developed innovative teaching and training pedagogies, focused on negotiation skills and strategies, human resource and employment relations practices and processes, team building methodology, managerial ethics, and leadership “zone” soft skills. He pioneered the introduction of an elective course titled “Managing Negotiations” since 1989 and an elective ethics course titled “Managing Ethical Dilemmas” at IIMA since 1993 for the second year students of IIMA’s flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management.
