Senior Vice President
As a senior vice president of State Street Corporation, Ms. Paton is chief administration officer for the company’s Corporate Development and Global Relationship Management group. During her 30-year career with State Street, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in a wide range of business line, technology, client-support and sales functions.
Named senior vice president and director of global sales support in 2002, Ms. Paton oversaw global sales/marketing initiatives and strategies. She managed the global sales and relationship management operations group for several years and was responsible for prospecting strategies as well as State Street's efforts to respond to hundreds of request-for-proposal responses and sales presentations each year. Before her current role, Ms. Paton was a relationship manager within the Global Relationship Management group, which focuses on the company’s top clients.
Ms. Paton has chaired State Street's Professional Women's Network for the past six years, taking it from an Eastern Massachusetts start-up to a global network, increasing membership to hundreds of women at all levels across the globe. She has developed events showcasing well-known speakers such as Laura Liswood, co-founder and secretary general of the Council of Women World Leaders, author of Women World Leaders and The Loudest Duck and a senior adviser at Goldman Sachs, and Catherine Kaputa, author and president of SelfBrand, Inc. Ms. Paton was interviewed for, and her personal story was included in, Kaputa’s latest book, The Female Brand – Using the Female Mindset to Succeed in Business. She has been a guest speaker at the Massachusetts Conference for Women and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA).
Ms. Paton continues to balance her professional obligations with her commitment to community and nonprofit activities. She serves on the board of directors of Common Impact, a nonprofit organization that specializes in matching skilled corporate volunteers with nonprofits, along with growth and development opportunities for their corporate partners’ key talent staff, and is chair of the STEP, Inc., advisory committee, which offers high school students the opportunity to interact with a range of companies through guided tours.
