Finance Accounting Degree Requirement

The finance and accounting program at Bentley University has been carefully designed to provide students with the skills they need to begin a successful career in corporate finance. The widespread application of information technology by companies in the United States and around the globe has dramatically changed the nature of corporate finance. Numerous studies show that corporate finance professional have experienced dramatic reduction in the time they spend processing transactions, while giving increased attention to cost and profitability analysis, strategic planning, process improvement and performance evaluation.

Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is built into several courses to allow students an opportunity to better understand the integrated IT systems that most major companies in the United States and the world use to process transactions, prepare statutory and management reports and evaluate operations throughout the organization. Leveraging the college’s long-respected traditions in accounting and finance, this new program offers students the opportunity to learn how to integrate technology into corporate finance and accounting practices. Bentley students graduate with a solid understanding of finance and accounting concepts and methodologies, advanced course work in communication, and exposure to the information technology systems used by leading corporations.
