Business Finance Programs

Major Courses in Business Finance

Finance majors are required to complete a 15-credit-hour foundation of business studies through the following courses:

  • Quantitative Analysis/Business Decisions

The Finance Department offers a broad range of business finance degree electives to allow for specialization in corporate finance, financial institutions or financial services, including financial planning, real estate, insurance and investments. Students are encouraged to participate in internships as part of the finance major.

Bentley College is recognized throughout the world as a provider of outstanding professional education in finance.  The Department of Finance offers six different programs at two academic levels. All programs benefit from quality faculty with diverse backgrounds and proven track-records involving frequent publications and significant consulting engagements. Additionally, the new multimillion dollar Hughey Center for Financial Services enables students to integrate real-world experiences into their academic program.

Required finance courses introduce students to the financial environment of business, the key principles underlying the investment process, the financial decision-making process of corporations, and the expanding international context of financial analysis and decision making. The broad range of electives offered allows finance majors to specialize in corporate finance, financial institutions, or financial services, including financial planning, real estate, insurance and investments. Superior students may also participate in directed study projects and/or paid internships with companies as part of the business finance degree undergraduate and graduate program.
