The Business Gateway Program is designed to meet the needs of talented, analytically inclined students who did not major in business. Rigorous courses, focused career advising and professional development opportunities build a foundation for earning a graduate degree in business, launching a corporate job search, or finding the business career that’s right you. Selected participants will:

  • Receive admission to the McCallum Graduate School of Business, with a waiver of the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) requirement;
  • Earn graduate credit to complete one of six Bentley Master of Science (MS) degrees in as little as one year;
  • Work closely with career advisers and faculty well versed in the opportunities and requirements of different fields of business;
  • Tap into an ongoing network and support system of corporate partners and fellow graduates of top liberal arts and engineering schools.

The 25 to 30 young professionals chosen for this eight-week residential program will take four graduate-level courses focused on the key principles that underlie business practice. Career advising and professional development give non-business students the tools to chart their next move. Upon completing the program, the top three students will be awarded full-tuition scholarships for continued graduate study at Bentley.

The cohort of students admitted to the Business Gateway Program will live on campus, in suites with kitchen, bath, living room, and individual bedrooms. Barbecues, receptions, and similar gatherings provide opportunities to meet and socialize with your peers from other top colleges. The apartment buildings, which opened in September 2005, also have space for small groups to get together and study or collaborate on course projects.

Liberal arts candidates are well-prepared for the business world in many ways. A challenge for MaPS is reaching liberal arts students, who may not (and may never) realize there are positions in business that leverage these skills. Programs like the Business Gateway help firms like ours bridge that gap.”
