Internships, consulting projects, and courses that include international travel are among the valuable avenues for building skills, confidence and a network of professional contacts.
Opportunities for hands-on learning stretch across Bentley’s portfolio of MBA and MS programs. Some are built into specific programs; others are options for any graduate student.
Candidates for the Bentley MBA pursue three two-week collaborations at sites in the United States and other countries. Students work with faculty and organization representatives to address an emerging or persistent issue for the organization — generally one for which an actionable solution does not exist.
Recent college graduates and other young professionals who pursue the Emerging Leaders MBA can ratchet up their experience level in several ways. A corporate immersion experience, consulting engagements, and a trip overseas enable students to learn from global leaders in government and business.
Bentley has thriving relationships with companies around the world, whose leaders often tap the expertise of graduate students and faculty. Student teams work with a faculty adviser to address relevant issues and offer recommendations that achieve specific goals for the organization.
Global Business Experience
Global Business Experience courses feature a 10-day trip abroad offered during the semester break. Through company visits and meetings with business and government officials, graduate students expand their understanding of doing business in China, Turkey, Germany and other countries.
Students who pursue an internship through Graduate Career Services gain valuable career-related experience at leading companies and other organizations. The assignments can lead to permanent professional positions.
Research Assistantship Program
Candidates for the MS in Human Factors in Information Design who are accepted to the Research Assistantship program work on client projects in the Design and Usability Center. Students collaborate with the center’s team of user experience professionals.
