Faculty Position in Accounting

The Department of Accountancy at Bentley College invites applications to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the fall of 2007. A qualified candidate will hold a doctoral degree or expect completion of a degree by September 1, 2007 and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly research. All areas of teaching interest are welcome. Experience in curriculum development and implementation is strongly desired, as is an interest in conducting inter-disciplinary research. A qualified candidate should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to negotiate in a cross-cultural environment with educators, administrators, and students.
Bentley College and its accounting programs are AACSB accredited. The department offers 4-year and 5-year degrees in Accountancy, a joint undergraduate degree with the Finance Department, an MS degree in Accountancy, MBA concentration in Accounting, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting Information Systems. The college offers a Masters in Taxation, through a separate tax department. Additionally, in the Fall of 2006, Bentley will begin a new Ph.D. program, offering a Ph.D. in Accountancy and a Ph.D. in Business. Bentley College provides a wide range of resources to both students and faculty through an extensive academic computing environment to support high quality teaching, learning, and research. Bentley houses several unique specialty computer lab facilities which include the CIS Lab, Trading Room, Design and Usability Testing Center, Center for Marketing Technologies, Accounting Center for Electronic Learning and Business Measurement, and the Center for Languages and International Collaboration. Salary is competitive and support is available for summer research, summer teaching, course development, and for travel to professional meetings.
