Modern South Asian History


The History Department at Bentley College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Modern South Asian History to begin August 2008. South Asian studies has been designated one of the college's areas of strategic interest.  Secondary field in Middle Eastern history, Empire, or Indian Ocean regional history desirable.  In addition to his/her specialized offerings, the applicant will also teach twentieth-century world history and participate in a growing International Studies major and minor.  Bentley is a business university with a unique, dynamic and expanding arts and sciences program.  Initial teaching load set at two courses per semester.  Scholarship is required and supported.  PhD by June 2008 and undergraduate teaching experience are required.  Salary competitive.  Applications must be received no later than 1 December 2007 to be scheduled for pre-arranged interviews at the AHA convention.
