Information Design and Corporate Communication

Highlights and Opportunities

Design and Usability Center (DUC)

IDCC students have access to the Design and Usability Center (DUC), a not-for-profit enterprise that provides web developers with the necessary software and hardware to research, test, and refine new products. Located on campus, the center was designed by leading usability and Human Computer Interface (HCI) professionals and offers one of the most sophisticated testing facilities in the country.

Honors Internship

The IDCC six-credit honors internship will introduce qualified Bentley students to the "real world" of communications in the fields of information design and development and public relations. The honors internship has the added value of a competitive and selective admissions process. Bentley students in the IDCC program have held internships with corporations and organizations including Lotus Development Corporation, MathWorks, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Boston Ballet, the Democratic National Committee, and WCVB-TV.

Organization of IDCC

Students are encouraged to participate in the organization of IDCC, which hosts job fairs, information sessions, and events for graduating seniors, as well as to join professional networking organizations such as the Public Relations Society of America and the Society for Technical Communication.

Service Learning

Bentley College is the leader in service-learning and many courses within the IDCC program provide excellent opportunities for students to develop their skill set while working in service to their community.
