Grants
Atlantis Grant : Dual Degree in Information Management,IBIM- A grant of $408,000, awarded through the FIPSE European Union - United States Atlantis Program,establishes an international dual degree program in information technology. Undergraduates will study at Bentley, Tilburg University in the Netherlands, and Deusto University in Spain. The European Union awarded $548,000 to the partner schools.
FIPSE/CAPE Grant : Student Exchange Focused on Managing IT - The U.S. Department of Education has granted $200,000 to Bentley University through the Fund for the Improvement of Post secondary Education (FIPSE). The grant provides for undergraduate student exchanges of one year or more with institutions in Brazil and Texas. Students will study in Portuguese at one of two schools in Brazil : the University if Sao Paulo or the Federal University of Parana. The partner institution in Texas is the University of Texas-Pan American.
International Summer Institute at Bentley University (ISIB)
The International Summer Institute at Bentley is designed to meet the needs of business students for summer study abroad in the United States. The institute offers participants an opportunity to learn about business environment in the United States, as well as American history and culture through academic seminars, meetings with business executives, and cultural activities. Other Initiatives
Bentley Global Educator's Workshop - The workshop is being held on May 25 to 29, 2009. The goal of the workshop is to help faculty better prepare Bentley students to thrive in increasingly globalized economic,social and cultural context.The objectives are to provide faculty with the requisite pedagogical tools and resources with which to globalize the educational environment that our students experience.
Visit to MDI - Bentley faculty visited MDI in New Delhi on January 7, 2008 and met Dr. Sujit K. Basu, Director/President; other MDI faculty and administrators, to explore possible joint projects that could be developed between MDI and Bentley. An MOI was signed between Bentley sociology department and MDI communication department to collaborate on research and other activities.
Bentley and ICFAI Joint Conference - The joint International Conference in Business and Finance (ICBF) took place on January 11-12, 2008 in Hyderabad, India.. There were representatives from 19 countries including Turkey,Russia, United States, United Kingdom, China, among others. Most of the papers that were well presented are being incorporated in three volumes of proceeding books.
Bentley-Zhejiang (China)-State Street Exchange Program - Two Bentley students intern at State Street for 8 to 10 weeks, then travel to Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China for
the summer.
