Programs
Major Courses
During the first two years, students in the marketing major take required courses in the General Education Core and the Business Core; these include humanities and social sciences, English, mathematics, accounting and finance. In the junior and senior years, they are required to take the following:
- Marketing Research
- Marketing Management
Additional requirements include four marketing electives that include, but are not limited to:
- Advertising
- Promotional Strategy
- Consumer Behavior
- International Marketing
- Retailing
- E-Marketing
- B2B Marketing
- Two marketing-related electives from any business discipline
Minors
The marketing minor is designed to offer both breadth and flexibility in accommodating student interests. Students must meet with the marketing minor coordinator to discuss their eligibility and course requirements as well as selection of appropriate courses to strengthen their major area of study.
The minor requirements for a bachelor of arts degree candidate are as follows:
Prerequisite:
- Integrated Business Functions or Marketing
One of the following Foundation of Marketing courses:
- Promotional Strategy
- Marketing Channels
- Consumer Behavior
- Marketing Research
Two of the following Applied Marketing courses:
- Advertising
- Direct Marketing
- Sales Management
- Retail Management
- Marketing of Services
- International Marketing
- Business Marketing
- E-Marketing
- Marketing Management
or special topics courses (e.g. Consumer-centric Marketing, Database Marketing)
The minor requirements for a bachelor of science degree candidate are the same as above, except they are required to select one additional Foundation of Marketing course.
