Medical Transcription Study
Welcome to the Medical Transcription Study webpage. The project is the first comprehensive study of the work of medical transcriptionists (MTs) and medical transcription service organizations (MTSOs). Conducted by a team of researchers at Bentley College, the project goals are to:
- Understand the knowledge work involved in the transformation of dictated voice files into healthcare documentation;
- Examine the impact of medical record and transcription technologies on the creation of healthcare documentation;
- Identify industry "best practices" and strategies to facilitate their production;
- Articulate the factors and elements necessary to produce accurate and useful medical records
