Information Technology Curriculum

 

 

MSIT Curriculum
The MSIT program consists of 10 courses (30 credit hours): six core courses and four electives. All courses are three credits unless otherwise noted.

Core Courses--18 credits required

CS 603*

Object-Oriented Application Development

CS 605*

Data Management and Systems Modeling

Technology Infrastructure of Information Systems

Enterprise Architecture

Object-Oriented Systems Analysis and Design

Plus choose one of the following options below:

Option 1:

GS 602  Business Process Management

OR

Option 2**:

GR 610A   Business Process Management I

AND

GR 610B Business Process Management II

*Students who have completed comparable coursework may be eligible to substitute electives for these courses. Any 600, 700 or 800 level elective approved by the MSIT Director may be chosen to privde a minimum of five CS courses are included in one's total program.
**To take Option 2 students must obtain permission from the Program Director as well as the course instructor.

Option 1
Four courses to include the following:

  • Two CS courses from the list below
  • One CS, IPM or HFID course (If the two-semester GR 610A/B is chosen, GR 610B fuliflls this requirement.)
  • One unrestricted elective

Select the four-course Information Management concentration offered by the Information Process Management department.

Option 3
Select another graduate school four-course concentration with approval of the MSIT Program Director.

  • All electives must be at the 600, 700 or 800 level.
