The Multicultural Center

Greetings and welcome to our page! Please check our calendar for upcoming events.
The Multicultural Center (MCC) is “home” to many ALANA (Asian, Latino/a, African-American, Native American and multiracial) students at the university. The MCC was formed in 1991, and it has seen future business leaders come through its doors ever since.
Our Mission
The Multicultural Center serves to further the retention and success of the university’s ALANA students. We provide academic monitoring, guidance, and referrals; initiatives for retention and leadership development; one-on-one connections for advocacy and ongoing personal support.
The MCC also serves as a campus-wide resource, promoting the university’s efforts to foster diversity and to develop itself as a richly varied, learning community. It is a meeting place for all, providing the impetus and means for explorations that both challenge and celebrate.
Our Focus
- Retention
- Cultural Programming
- Advocacy
- Educational Resources
- Corporate Relations
A team of professional staff is ready to help students with personal, academic and/or career counseling and advice. They also serve as a resource for diversity affairs, and work very closely with student organizations on cultural events.

Congratulations to Ernest Washington, Jr. '73, recipient of the 2009 Multicultural Center / ALANA Alumni Volunteer Award! We truly appreciate all you do!
