Bentley Students Place Second in Federal Reserve’s Regional Monetary Policy Competition on November 16

A team of Bentley students took second place in the regional College Fed Challenge, a monetary policy debate competition sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. On November 16, Bentley competed against 20 teams from institutions including Boston College, Boston University, Bryant University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Middlebury College, University of Vermont, Tufts University, and Yale University.
Economics professors Dave Gulley and Aaron Jackson advised the team, which included seniors J. Kingsley Greenland, Laura Jackson, Rohith Lokareddy, Jeanette McKenna, Jane Mei, Austin Smith, and Yiyi Xia. The presentation to judges included a mock Federal Open Market Committee meeting where students played the role of FOMC members and presented a monetary policy recommendation based on current economic conditions.
