Medicus International New York and Bentley University will collaborate on the development of a curriculum to train healthcare providers in interpersonal communication skills. Medicus International New York will be working with Helen Meldrum, EdD, Associate Professor of Psychology at Bentley University, to create educational programs to enhance interpersonal communication that can be delivered as in-service presentations in a wide variety of healthcare settings across the country.
Workshop Teaches Undergraduate and Graduate Women How to Build a Network The Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI) hosts “Shattering the Glass Ceiling: It Starts On Campus,” a workshop for undergraduate and graduate women on building your network on campus and beyond. The program will be held Monday, October 18, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Executive Dining Room at LaCava Center. Registration is required.

Bentley senior Matthew Krawiec, a management major at Bentley University, is the recipient of the 2010 SCORE/SBA Scholarship Award in Entrepreneurship. A Management major, Krawiec won the competition for the $1,000 scholarship on the basis of his academic performance and entrepreneurial perspective. The competition is sponsored by the Bentley University Management Department under the leadership of management faculty members Jeffrey Shuman, Hans Thamhain, and Fred Tuffile.

The Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) named Bentley University junior Jonas Grazulis a 2010 Scholarship winner at the annual Academic Awards Dinner on April 14, 2010. Criteria for the scholarship includes outstanding academic achievements, along with extracurricular activities and leadership.
Professor of Mathematical Sciences David Carhart led a team of Bentley Mathematical Sciences faculty to judge the Moody's Mega Math Challenge, marking the second year that Bentley has served as a host site. Those participating were assistant professors Nathan Carter and Mingfei Li; and senior lecturer Peter Ciccarelli.
P. Thompson Davis, Professor of Geology and Climatology in the Natural and Applied Sciences Department, was named as a fellow of the Geological Society of America (GSA). He will be recognized at the GSA Annual Meeting on October 31, 2010, in Denver. According to GSA, members are elected to fellowship in recognition of distinguished contributions to the geosciences, an honor that is bestowed upon the best in the profession.
Bentley alumna Jennifer Midgley '03 may be an accountant by day, but she's sketching out a dream as a shoe designer after hours. Midgley recently entered a national shoe design competition sponsored by Lucky magazine and Vince Camuto shoes.
