Bentley Captures Third Straight NE-10 Presidents Cup

WALTHAM, Mass. For the third consecutive year, Bentley College has been awarded the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Cup, emblematic of the best overall athletic program in the conference.
Points are awarded on a sliding scale, based on each school's regular season performance in all NE-10 sports other than golf and men's and women's cross country. In those sports, the points are based on the schools' finish in the conference championship.
Three Bentley teams captured Northeast-10 Conference regular season titles during the 1997-98 academic year: field hockey, women's basketball and men's lacrosse. Each also went on to capture the tournament title as well. Bentley's fourth conference championship game in men's cross country, the Falcons' fifth in the sport during the '90s.
The 1997-98 academic year saw Bentley athletic teams compile an impressive .599 winning percentage, with an aggregate record of 202-135-3. In Northeast-10 regular season action, the Falcons were slightly better (87-56-2, .607).
Women's basketball (30-2) had the best winning percentage, while field hockey (16-7), football (6-3), men's lacrosse (11-5), men's tennis (14-4), women's tennis (10-5), men's swimming (10-4) and women's swimming (15-5) all were victorious in at least two-thirds of their contests during the year.
