Set in the 17th - century France, this romantic adventure tells a funny, poignant story of unrequited love. Big nosed Cyrano is madly in love with Roxanne, but feels too ugly to win her. He befriends the handsome Christian who helps him to woo Roxanne by teaching him the arts of eloquence, courtship and poetry. The London Times calls this production, "hugely enjoyable."

Hero, Writer, Hunter, Lover, Fighter - The loves, expatriate days, alcoholism, problems and fears of Earnest Hemingway - the greatest writer of the 20th century- are captured by this portrayal by Ed Metzger. A veteran of film, television and Broadway, Metzger last delighted the Bentley audience in Einstein, the Practical Bohemian, in 1995.

This show recreates the joy and innocence of an evening in a remote Irish farmhouse, in the days before cars, TVs and telephones. This time-honored program of Irish music, song and dance features story-teller Tomaseen Foley, guitarist William Coulter; Irish/ Scottish fiddler Deby Benton Grosjean; Todd Denman on the Uilleann Pipes; and Geraldine Murray of the Murray School of Irish Dancing.

Brutus Jones is an ex-Pullman porter who catapults himself into the esteemed position of emperor of a small island in the West Indies. Having exploited the natives, who are on the verge of rebellion, Jones must flee for his life and take refuge in the Great Forest.

Tango Mujer

This dance performance challenges the origins of tango, performing traditional work in unconventional ways. The typical tango show presents a formulaic drama of seduction and jealousy, but Tango Mujer is interested in other emotions tango can express: tenderness and longing, the experience of solitude, or the energy of a group.

Based on the fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea, this musical follows Prince Dauntless the Drab, whose mother, Queen Agravain, declares that he will wed only a true princess of royal blood. When Princess Winnifred arrives, the Queen devises a clever test to determine whether the self-proclaimed princess is worthy of her son. Presented by the Bentley College drama fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega.

The Bentley College Gospel Choir

This choir of Bentley College students, faculty and staff performs two concerts yearly under the direction of Beverly Mosby. Their rousing spirituals will have you jumping out of your seat and clapping your hands to the beat.

Individual tickets for the Bowles Performing Arts Series cost $3/student , $5/staff and faculty, and $7/general public and can be purchased at the LaCava Information Desk in advance or at the Koumantzelis Auditorium Box Office one hour prior to each show.
