Bentley College Joins the Waltham CitiBus System

January 16, 2002

WALTHAM, Mass.- January 15, 2002: Today, the 128 Business Council and Bentley College are pleased to announce that the school has joined the growing Waltham CitiBus system. The college's existing shuttle system will be upgraded and integrated into the Waltham CitiBus system, and will operate under the name "Bentley CitiBus Shuttle." The service will begin on Sunday, January 20, 2002, at the beginning of Bentley's spring semester. The new service will cover the same routes as before, serving Waltham Center, Lexington Street, and also providing a connection to Harvard Square. The service will operate with its own dedicated vehicles that will carry the Bentley CitiBus name. Gary Kelly, Associate Dean of Students for the College adds, "Bentley is pleased to be a part of the CitiBus network of transportation. This service will make the Bentley campus more accessible and enable students, faculty, and staff to take advantage of all that Waltham has to offer."

Bentley CitiBus will operate seven days a week during the academic year. Reduced schedules will operate during the summer session and some breaks during the school year. The service will continue to be free to students, faculty, and staff of the college.

Background: The Waltham CitiBus service began in January 2001 and provides hourly service to most locations within Waltham that are not adequately served by the MBTA. Weekday service currently operates to most major employment and shopping areas throughout the city. Connections to the MBTA system are also available at Waltham Center, Riverside, and Waverley Square. Current schedules can be obtained from the 128 Business Council at 781-890-0093 or on their website: www.128bc.com.
