Bentley College Offers High School Students Opportunity to Score Red Sox and Mets Internships

Two high school students will get the chance to make a hit in the Major Leagues next summer, courtesy of Bentley College. Bentley and Major League ( are sponsoring the fourth season of the "Break Into the Biz of Baseball" challenge, in which two high school students from across America win a one-month internship in summer 2008 with the Boston Red Sox or New York Mets.

The program offers students the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the business of Major League Baseball. The Red Sox internship is with Red Sox sister company Fenway Sports Group, an organization that is involved in sports-oriented sales and marketing. The Mets internship will be with working with the liaison between the team and the web site.

Contestants visit either team website, complete an entry form and submit a 50-100 word essay (not to exceed 100 words) explaining why he or she should be chosen to win the internship. In addition to the grand prizes, prizes will be given to the first and second runner up in each market. Bentley and the teams will judge and choose winners based on originality, creativity, passion, interest in business, and clarity.

Current high school students (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) between the ages of 13-18.

The promotion will continue until October 19, 2007 to coincide with the final portion of the MLB season. Winners will be notified on or about February 1, 2008.
