Bentley Hosts 13th Annual IRS Town Meeting

The Bentley College Law, Taxation and Financial Planning Department, along with the Internal Revenue Service, will host the 13th Annual Internal Revenue Service Town Meeting on Monday, October 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Wilder Pavilion, Adamian Academic Center.

 

Keynote Speaker Kevin Brown, Commissioner of the Small Business Self-Employed Division, Washington D.C., will discuss Tax Gap and the Importance of the Tax Professional Community. Other speakers and panel discussions will include:

 

· Taxpayer Advocate Service and Collection- challenges of IRS collection

· Examination Initiatives- what to expect in the upcoming year

· Ethics and Professional Responsibility- Circular 230's new authority

· The Electronic IRS- possible accomplishments with electronic IRS options
