Bentley Joins Forces With The Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball To Give Students A Chance To 'Break Into The Biz Of Baseball'

WALTHAM, Mass. - For any youngster who has ever dreamt of making it to the major leagues, Bentley is helping make that dream a reality.

Bentley is sponsoring the "Break into the Biz of Baseball" Challenge, in which four high school students from across America can win a one-month internship in the offices of the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies during the summer of 2005. Students will go behind the scenes and learn the ins-and-outs about running a Major League Baseball (MLB) team in areas such as marketing, sales, and corporate relations and partnerships.

"The business side of baseball is fascinating, and we are delighted to partner with Major League Baseball in this promotion," said Bentley President Joseph G. Morone. "This real-world, hands-on experience - perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any aspiring business student - will give them a unique opportunity to see the operational aspects of America's past time."

Contestants complete an entry form found at any of the four team websites or e-newsletters. Students must also write a 100-word essay explaining why he or she should be chosen to win the internship. Prizes will be given to the first and second runner ups in each market. Bentley will judge and choose the winners based on creativity, originality, passion and clarity.

Anyone between the ages of 15-20.

The promotion will continue until October 3, 2004 to coincide with the final portion of the MLB season. Winners will be notified by February 2005.
