U.S. News & World Report Names McCallum Graduate School of Business One of Top 100
April 18, 2006
Waltham, Mass. - The Bentley College McCallum Graduate School of Business was ranked among the top 100 graduate business schools in the country and one of the top 10 in New England in the recently released U.S. News & World Report rankings of America's Best Graduate Business Schools 2007.
The Master of Science in Information Technology program ranked #19 nationally and #2 in New England in the Information Systems category; once again, the part-time MBA program ranked among the top 50 in the country and #4 in New England; and the Master of Science in Accountancy program was ranked #31 nationally and #2 in New England.
The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) is the most technically advanced program in the information systems discipline - a proven area of expertise at Bentley. MSIT students study systems analysis and design, data management, and corporate IT infrastructure management - all in the business context. This focus develops students' expertise in using state-of-the-art tools and methods for building, managing and deploying the enterprise-wide computer applications that drive business.
Designed with the working professional in mind, The McCallum School's part-time MBA program offers unmatched flexibility and the opportunity to receive credit for prior academic work. Seven business fundamental courses within the 19-course curriculum ensure an understanding of business basics such as statistics, economics, organizational behavior, marketing, operations, accounting and finance. The MBA required core courses integrate business and IT to spotlight its role in gaining competitive advantage, improving business processes, leading change, and formulating global strategy. The part-time MBA allows students to customize their degree by selecting one of 16 concentrations or pursue a new option to get additional specialization with a double concentration.
The Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) program offers in-depth education in all major areas of the field: financial; managerial and tax accounting; auditing; and accounting information systems. The program also offers the latest tools and software in the Howard A. Winer Accounting Center for Electronic Learning and Business Measurement (ACELAB) and strong partnerships with area employers who participate in campus events, serve as guest speakers in courses and offer internships. The program is one of only a few to earn a separate accreditation in accountancy from AACSB International, a distinction that means the MSA program fulfills course and work experience requirements for CPA eligibility in Massachusetts and many other states, regardless of the student's previous academic background.
The McCallum School offers the most advanced business education possible, integrating information technology into course content. Program offerings also include the innovative dual MS-MBA and eight Master of Science degrees. The McCallum School provides a powerful, student-centered learning environment, innovative curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities and committed teachers and scholars. Students draw on first-rate technological resources including an extensive computing network; an on-site financial Trading Room; use of the leading integrated enterprise software from SAP America; specialized labs for studying accounting systems, marketing, and information design; and research databases and information sources worldwide.
