Barry Homan, Bradenton, Fla., has written his first book, Whispers Through Time. Homan is employed at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Fla.

1979
Charlie Sinunu, Ellicott City, Md., is the international sales director for DSC Dredge, a manufacturer of cutter suction dredges.

1981
David Bojarczuk, Burlington, Mass., has been promoted to senior vice president, chief financial officer, and director of corporate finance at GFA Federal Credit Union.

1984
Debra Salvucci ’MSF, Easton, Mass., has been elected to the Board of Directors for Stars, a nonprofit organization that provides early education and youth development programs across the South Shore. Salvucci chairs the Business Administration Department at Stonehill College, where she also teaches accounting and taxation courses as an associate professor.

1985
Holly Raymond-Gagnon, Philadelphia, Miss., has been appointed president and chief executive officer for Pearl River Resort, a luxury gaming destination.

1986
Middlesex Savings Bank has promoted Laura (Prouty) Duncan, Natick, Mass., to assistant vice president, mortgage lending. Her previous post was retail lending officer.

1990
Charles Dwyer ’MSF, Medway, Mass., has been promoted to senior vice president at Middlesex Savings Bank.

1991
Deborah Lang, Framingham, Mass., has accepted the post of finance project manager at ikaSystems. The company specializes in business process optimization and intelligence management technology, supporting health insurers’ commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business.

1993
Kerry O’Brien, South Burlington, Vt., has been inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America, a premier trade organization in the fashion industry. O’Brien is the owner and designer for Commando, an intimate apparel brand.

Casa Myrna, a nonprofit dedicated to ending domestic and dating violence, has appointed Terry Rice MSA ’94, MST ’99, Medford, Mass., to its Board of Directors. Rice is the controller at Living Proof, a technology-based beauty company in Cambridge, Mass.

1994
Daniel Lieber, Wakefield, Mass., is a founding director of Baby Café USA Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports breastfeeding mothers. He is president of computer software firm Innovative Ideas Unlimited Inc. and a board member for Andover School of Montessori.

1996
The American Association of Managing General Agents has elected Ken Distel, Avon, Conn., to its Board of Directors. In addition to serving as vice president at Joseph Distel & Company Inc., the alumnus chairs the Business Issues Committee for the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Board of Directors. 

Monique (Young) Jefferson, Brooklyn, N.Y., has been recognized twice-over in 2012. She received the Harlem YMCA Black Achiever in Industry award as was named one of “40 under 40” by the Network Journal. The alumna is corporate vice president and senior human resources business partner at New York Life Insurance Company.

After a yearlong tour in Afghanistan, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Evan Labell, Londonderry, N.H., has returned home. He was honored with the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

1997
Scott Frerichs MBA ’98 and wife Miko, Nashua, N.H., announce the birth of a daughter, Hollis.

The financial services firm Boston Partners Financial Group has tapped Debbie Lamy, Boston, Mass., as vice president of marketing.

1998
Charles Stuart, Memphis, Tenn., has been promoted to director of brand performance support for the Hilton Garden Inn Brand.

1999
Dave MacKeen ’MSA, Boxford, Mass., was a guest on WGBH Radio’s The Emily Rooney Show; discussion centered on current trends in technology staffing and consulting, as well as the future of the technology industry. MacKeen is chief executive officer for the Eliassen Group.

The February 2012 issue of Boston magazine highlighted Gregory McLaughlin, Randolph, Mass., who was named a “Five Star Wealth Manager” for 2012 by Crescendo Business Services. McLaughlin was also recognized by the John Hancock Financial Network for “achieving client excellence” and qualified for membership in the Million Dollar Round Table, a premier association for financial professionals. He is a financial consultant with Centinel Financial Group LLC.

Ewa (Reppling) Sack and husband David, Seattle, Wash., have welcomed a new daughter, Ella Sofia.

2002
Heather (Gambino) and husband Nick Baldassari, Westwood, Mass., announce the birth of a daughter, Giuliana Grace.

Matt DiVirgilio, Woburn, Mass., has received a volunteer award from St. John’s Preparatory School, recognizing his service as president of the school’s alumni association. The alumnus is president of the DiVirgilio Financial Group, a wealth management firm. He and wife Nicole are recent parents of twins, Layton Michael and Melania Bryn.

Lauren (Belt-Smith) and husband Todd Becker, Ellington, Conn., are proud mom and dad to new son Paxton Todd.

Courtney (Cogswell) Lombardo and husband Barry, Billerica, Mass., welcome a girl, Sydney Jean. She joins big sister, Gianna Sue.

Matthew Gross MBA ’04 and wife Amy (Mead) ’04, Stoughton, Mass., share news of new daughter Avery Madisyn.

Amy (Mead) and husband Matthew Gross ’03, MBA ’04, Stoughton, Mass., welcome a baby girl, Avery Madisyn.

2005

Ryan Taft, Hatfield, Pa., has developed OnSpot Social, an iPad application the enables business owners to collect Facebook “likes,” Twitter followers and customer email addresses via iPads in retail settings. Taft is a partner for OnSpot Social. [Please note that the print edition of the fall Observer mistakenly credits Ryan Foote ’05 for developing the app; our apologies for the error.] 

Laura Ragno and David Foss MSA ’06 said “I do” on May 19, 2012.

Melanie (Devon) MSA ’07 and husband Nicholas Frost Whitney, Abington, Mass., are the proud parents of daughter Meredith Lillian.

Ryan Feller and wife Michaela (O’Rourke)’07, MSA ’09, Wilmington, Mass., announce the birth of a son, Tyler Scott.

Susan Lowe ’MSA, Woburn, Mass., has accepted the role of chief financial officer at Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech in Northampton, Mass.

Carrie Bishop MSA ’09 wed Matt Healy on April 21, 2012. After watching the couple say “I do” at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Middletown, Conn., family and friends gathered at the Barns at Wesleyan Hills to celebrate. Brooke (Smith) Sforza ’05 photographed the event.

Noel Dulac, Chelmsford, Mass., of Boston Partners Financial Group LLC, has been named one of the top 10 advisers in the U.S. by 401kWire, an asset management industry publication.

Jennifer Groipen and Nicholas Jasilli ’09 wed on November 5, 2011.
