The Value of Volunteers

Over cocktails and dinner in the Dana Center, guests were greeted by Paul Mastrocola ’90 and Gloria Cordes Larson, the respective presidents of the association and the college.

New Dawn for Fund Raising
Bentley alumni formed their own letter-writing team and brought in more than $34,000 to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The fifth annual Up ’Til Dawn fund-raising event took place on November 25.

A Legacy at the Library
Members and friends of the Romanowski family gathered on November 20 to dedicate a conference room in the Bentley Library. Marking the occasion were spouses and 1987 classmates Joe Romanowski and Renee (Dugas) Romanowski, with their children, Conner, Mitch and Joey. The conference room is named for Lois and John Romanowski, whom son Joe praised for “their sacrifice in providing family members the opportunity to achieve a college education.” The space overlooks the Waltham neighborhood where Joe grew up and his parents still live. Joe is a past president of the Alumni Association and an active member of the Bentley President’s Club.

Gridiron Greatness Times 25
More than 125 former athletes, coaches and friends of Bentley football gathered on October 26 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program’s first championship team. Coaches Petter Yetten and Bob DeFelice joined trustee chairman Terry Carleton ’77 in thanking those whose support has sustained the program through the years.

Bentley alumni and friends enjoyed an engaging presentation by former New Hampshire governor and current Bentley parent Craig Benson, who discussed the role of business leaders in politics and shared stories of his experience in both realms. The November 8 event was part of a series of President’s Club breakfasts held at the Downtown Harvard Club of Boston.

More than 50 attended the November 29 event, enjoying cocktails, dinner, and a presentation by Gloria Cordes Larson. In particular, the Bentley president lauded alumni support for expanding students’ internship and job opportunities in Connecticut.

New in Natick
Owen O’Leary’s in Natick was the place to be on November 29, as more than 25 alumni gathered for an after-work networking reception. The positive response to this first-ever event in the area suggests there will be more to come!
