Reunion Weekend and More

A Weekend to Remember
More than 550 alumni and their guests returned to campus in June for Reunion Weekend 2012. Mother Nature could not put a damper on this parade, as participants braved the rain, enjoyed an outstanding picnic and rally, and danced the night away at the always-festive class parties.

Celebrating the Gift of Education
Scholarship recipients and their benefactors gathered on April 24 for Bentley’s annual Scholarship Appreciation Lunch. Guests heard inspiring words from Melissa Rodriguez ’12, an active student leader who received the Norman Wise Scholarship.

“Many individuals gave me a helping hand – some with their time and others with their financial generosity,” she said. “I am humbled to have the opportunity to stand before so many generous individuals in one room. Every donor has deeply touched a student’s life, including my own.”

Honoring the Chairman of the Board
The annual trustees’ dinner, held the night before Commencement, offered the backdrop for a surprise that honored J. Terence Carleton ’77. The alumnus was recognized for his record of meritorious service to the university, including the last seven years as chairman of the Board of Trustees. Event space in the Dana Athletic Center was named for Carleton, as President Gloria Cordes Larson praised his continued efforts to keep Bentley on an upward trajectory.

Warm Welcome for Falcon Families
Over the course of two weekends in June, parents, siblings and other loved ones of the incoming Class of 2016 were introduced to Bentley life during Family Orientation. The soon-to-be Falcon families met with faculty and staff, learned about institutional values and academic expectations, and toured the campus that is now their child’s “home away from home.”
