Education Abroad Long Range Planning
All semester International Education applicants are required to receive academic approval from an Academic Advisor in the Academic Advising Center. To receive this approval, all students must submit a Plan of Study Form and meet with an advisor to review this plan.
Having a successful international education experience begins with these few simple steps:
- Research education abroad programs and take advantage of the many resources available to help you make this choice:
-
Visit the comprehensive International Education Website
-
Speak with a Peer Advisor in International Education about their experiences
-
Attend the Education Abroad Fair which takes place every fall semester
-
Attend an information session
-
Meet with an International Education Advisor
After researching the abroad programs and meeting with an International Education Advisor, please do the following:
-
Log on to the Office of Academic Services website, which can be accessed through the Bentley website by typing in “Academic Services” in the Search menu.
-
Learn about the particulars of your major as well as possible sequencing by clicking on the “Majors and Minors” option, then clicking on your major, and then clicking on the DRS option. This will capture the entire curriculum and each required course. Utilize this form as a guide to monitor the completion of your requirements.
-
Using the DRS as a guide, complete the Plan of Study Form. Indicate your planned class list for your sophomore, junior, and senior year. For electives and other non-specific courses, you do not need to indicate a specific course. Generically putting “A&S elective” or “History” is acceptable.
Be sure to consider any major, LSM, minor, and course focus requirements that you need to fulfill in order to graduate. Start your form for your current class standing and upload a copy of this form on BentleyLink.
For assistance filling out the Plan of Study Form, visit one of our Peer Advisors during the following Walk-In Hours:
Monday – Thursday 11:30 am – 3:30 pm
-
Once your completed Plan of Study Form, make an appointment with an advisor of your choice. Students must complete all paperwork BEFORE meeting with an advisor.
BE SURE TO PLAN AHEAD!
The deadline to meet with an academic advisor is TBA
