Paternity/Spousal Equivalent Leave (FMLA)

Bentley provides time off from work to new parents. This policy may apply to birth fathers and spousal equivalents.

Pay During Leave

Fathers and spousal equivalents* may use 2 weeks of accrued sick time under the
Use of Sick Time for Family Illness Policy. They are not eligible for short-term disability benefits. All other time off must be paid through personal and/or vacation time. Up to one week of vacation time may be retained for future use. Once paid time off has been exhausted, the employee will be unpaid for the remainder of the leave. While unpaid, the employee will be billed for benefit contributions. If an employee is out before the 10th of the month in an unpaid status, vacation and sick accruals stop for that month. Holidays are paid in full. (Please note: if the spouse is also employed at Bentley, the total allowed FMLA leave is 12 weeks combined for both employees.)

This policy may be amended at any time.
