Staff Compensation Program

Human Resources is pleased to announce the new Staff Compensation Program at Bentley, effective March 1, 2012, for non-executive, non-faculty and non-union employees. If you have any questions or feedback about the program, please contact Caroline Bombrun or your HR Business Partner.

Pay Philosophy

Bentley’s compensation program is part of a “Total Rewards” package that includes competitive pay practices, generous time off, a comprehensive set of health and welfare benefits, and a wide array of resources and facilities available to employees.

Bentley strives to pay employees fairly and equitably based on their contributions, skills, performance and experience; competitive market data and internal equity; and business needs including available resources and strategic priorities. All employees will be paid at least at the minimum of their salary grade and employees generally will not be paid above the maximum of their salary grade.

Compensation at Bentley is also merit-based and the university is committed to rewarding high performers through its annual merit increase program.

Compensation Tools

Bentley maintains a standardized, yet flexible, competitive pay and job framework tied to market data. Every job at Bentley has been placed in a Job Ladder (click yellow button below on left to view a sample) to identify current and future business needs and to provide a framework for career development. Bentley’s Salary Grade Structure is based on external market data for Bentley’s specific jobs and each job is assigned a salary grade. Tools such as Level Guide Charts (click yellow button below on right to view a sample) assist employees in understanding how they develop their careers at Bentley and assist managers and employees in framing discussions about career development and opportunities.

Bentley's compensation program will continue to evolve to meet current and future business needs and to help employees develop skills and career paths for today's and tomorrow’s jobs.
