J. Andrew Shepardson, Ph.D.
Dean of Student Affairs
In his position, Andrew oversees the social, recreational, cultural, health and behavioral growth offered to students through educational programming and activities. He supervises Athletics, the Center for Health and Wellness, Counseling and Student Development, the Residential Center, the Multicultural Center, the Center for International Students and Scholars, Student Activities, Student Conduct and Development, and Spiritual Life. He has worked at Bentley since 1993 as Judicial Coordinator and Assistant and Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
He completed his Ph.D. at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. His research interests focus on student behavior and moral development. He has a M.Ed. in Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University and a B.A. in English from St. Michael's College in Vermont. He has taught at the undergraduate level as an adjunct faculty member in the Management Department at Bentley and at the graduate level in the Administration of Higher Education program at Suffolk University.
He has been named staff member of the year by Bentley students; won the Circuit of the Year award by the Association of Student Judicial Affairs; received the Founder's Day award from his colleagues at Bentley and the Dissertation of the Year by the Association of Student Judicial Affairs.
Associate Dean of Student Affairs
In her role as associate dean, Doreen assists with judicial matters, student concerns and conflict resolution. She enjoys working with students immensely and serves as adviser to the Student Government Association and co-adviser to the Falcon Society. Doreen also works with Sodexo as the university liaison regarding meal plans and the board program. She works closely with the associate director for the student center in the design and delivery of the building program.
She received her M.Ed. in Higher Education Policy, Research and Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her B.A. from Bridgewater State (College) University in Communication Studies with a concentration in Speech.
While at Bentley she has been recognized as a Founder’s Day award recipient as well as serving as the Association of College Unions International Regional Representative for Region 1 (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Great Britain, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, France, Ireland, and Prince Edward Island).
Doreen resides in Winthrop, MA and enjoys jogging, boating, golf and spending time with friends and family.
