How Are We Performing?

Each year the Office of Sustainability provides Sightlines, LLC with data on campus operations for the calculation of the university's carbon footprint.  Sightlines, LLC uses data (such as electricity and natural gas use and airline miles traveled associated with university business) to calculate Bentley's annual carbon footprint using the Clean Air Cool Planet Campus Carbon Calculator. 

The final carbon footprint analysis for FY2012 (July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012) is complete and the results show a 10% decline in greenhouse gas emissions as compared to FY2008 (the baseline year).  Bentley's greenhouse gas emissions for FY2012 are the lowest since 2004 despite an 8% increase in campus space.  Check out our Energy page to learn more about how we are acheiving these reductions.
